While winter breaks as the icy wind gives
way to a warm, southerly breeze and frosted
fescue feels the warmth of the suns
twinkling rays, it’s a great day to be in the
Commonwealth. As national news outlets
produce such headlines as “Property Values
are Spiraling Downward” and Trouble in the
Mortgage Industry has Forced Property
Values Down”, it’s a great day to be in the
IAAO.
I talked to Tiffany (Membership
Chairperson) this week. At this time we are
about 18 counties short of having 100%
membership. As you are contacted in the
following weeks about becoming members,
please remember that deputies are also
eligible for membership. Professional
designations through IAAO are enough
motivation for the PVA or at least one
deputy per county to become a member.
Dues are $20.00 payable to KY Chapter of
IAAO c/o Susan Bailey, PO Box 1547,
Frankfort, KY 40602-1547.
We have gotten off to a great start this year
at Barren River State Park. Our committees
met and made great plans for the year. Our
next meeting will be Thursday afternoon,
June 19th at summer conference. IAAO in
Reno will be September 7 - 10. Register
today at http://www.iaao.org. If you will be
attending the Reno conference I would like
to ask you to schedule a time with Stacey
Ewalt or Ben Brown to work our
promotional booth. We will be promoting
the 2009 IAAO Conference in Louisville.
This will be the 75th annual IAAO
Conference and we are honored to be a part
of this milestone. It is our time to shine and
we will need everyone’s participation to
make it a success.
I look forward to seeing you at summer
conference.
